Before Immersion, I was working in brand and marketing and had just started my journey as a UX designer and strategist. At the same time, I was in the fourth year of running my stationery brand, Cheeky Peach Designs; it was a season of slow but meaningful growth, and I was just beginning to find my illustrative style and voice. I loved what I was doing, yet there was a quiet part of me that craved something more: more art, more storytelling, more space to explore who I could be as a creative.

When I first heard about the Immersion Course, I felt both inspired and intimidated. I doubted whether I was enough of an artist to belong there. But something in me knew I needed to try.

Immersion completely shifted my mindset. I learned to recognize my weeds and seeds and to nurture the parts of me that wanted to grow. The idea of “10 seconds of courage” became a mantra; it helped me push through fear and send my very first pitch, which led to new opportunities and a renewed sense of possibility. That small act of bravery planted something much bigger: confidence in my creative voice.

Since completing Immersion, I have continued to grow Cheeky Peach Designs, which now includes over 200 products, all thoughtfully designed and brought to life through my illustrations. Our products are carried on our website and in brick-and-mortar stores across Canada, and we have built wonderful wholesale partnerships. I am also part of the artist team at Little Cocalico, an opportunity that came through Pattern+, and one that feels deeply special. I am currently working on my second collection with them, a collaboration that feels both full-circle and quietly magical.

I still work as a UX designer and strategist, but now I balance that with my creative business, something I never thought would feel this aligned. Looking ahead, I am excited to continue pitching my work, exploring new licensing opportunities, and expanding into industries!
