Meet Amanda Mikolajek

Coming from an Industrial Engineering background, I had no prior art or surface design experience. The investment in Immersion felt intimidating at first, and I worried whether the course would truly be worth it. 

Immersion ended up being exactly what I needed. It gave me the confidence, structure, and skills to create seamless patterns in Adobe Illustrator and understand the many ways artists can earn income through surface pattern design. I also loved the small group community, and a few of us still stay connected today. 

Since completing Immersion, I’ve built my website, opened my Spoonflower shop, launched a Printify pop-up shop, started posting consistently on Pinterest, and even won second place in Bonnie’s Pattern+ Heritage House contest. Immersion truly helped me see what’s possible for my creative future. 

Yes, it’s a significant investment, but if you’re serious about surface pattern design, the skills and knowledge you gain are absolutely worth it.
