Meet Bridget McBride

Before my surface pattern design journey, I was recently divorced, rebuilding my life with my two lovely daughters and working as a part time graphic designer and art director. I wanted to take the Immersion course because for almost ten years I had been trying to figure out how to pivot into fabric design. I am a hobby sewist, so it had always been a dream. What held me back was my shaken confidence after the divorce and my financial situation.

What changed after taking Immersion was the way I leveled up my skills in Illustrator. I learned to use the program in a way I was never required to as a graphic designer. The best part of the Immersion course was my commitment to following it through in real time. I did not let anything get in my way unless it was truly unavoidable. I now cherish my proficiency in Illustrator. Graphic designers simply use the program differently, and Immersion opened up so many new skills for me.

I have had one licensing deal, which was exciting, even though the payment has not come through the way it should have. I am now looking forward to licensing with a major fabric company, which is my number one goal, as well as any other opportunities that might come from that. I know I have the talent, the skill and the professional background to be an asset to a company, and I am really looking forward to that partnership.

Thank you, Bonnie and team!
