Meet Caitlin Satterlie

As a graphic designer, I was already familiar with Illustrator, but I wanted to go deeper and learn the tools that would set me up for success in the surface pattern design industry. Immersion felt like the perfect place to learn more about the industry and how I could be successful within it. Bonnie clearly broke down each lesson, provided examples and practice sheets, and shared so much valuable information about the pattern design industry as a whole. Each module was such a treat, and I loved how in depth the modules and videos were.

My biggest aha moment was “one thing a day.” It has been my mantra since this course. Even on the most hectic days, one thing a day, even for fifteen minutes, provides the action to reach your dreams. Even the smallest steps are valid.

If I could go back, I would tell my before-the-course that I would not be sorry for signing up for Immersion. It was worth every penny. The knowledge I learned about Illustrator and the pattern design industry was invaluable, and I feel confident pursuing a career in pattern design thanks to this course.

To someone considering Immersion, I would say that this course covers so much: sourcing creativity, mastering Illustrator, and pitching your work professionally. The community and Q&As are so much fun. Bonnie presents everything in clear, bite sized pieces, and this course is packed with nothing but value. No matter what niche you want to pursue within pattern design, there is something here for you.

I learned so much during the course that I now feel confident providing professional work to pitch in many industry niches. I have been building a professional portfolio to pitch to companies, and I am confident moving forward in my surface pattern design career thanks to all I learned in Immersion.
