Before I started my journey with Surface Pattern Design, I was working as a graphic designer in the fashion industry in the UK. I loved design, but after years in the same field, I felt restless — like I was ready for something new that aligned more closely with my heart and my creativity. I knew I wanted the next step in my career, but I didn’t know exactly what that looked like.

When I discovered Bonnie Christine’s Immersion Course, it felt like the perfect opportunity to explore a new path. I wanted to learn surface pattern design, challenge myself creatively, and find a way to create a career that excited me again. At the same time, I hesitated. I worried about whether I was ready, whether I had the skills, and whether I could actually turn my dreams into reality.

Once I joined Immersion, everything began to shift. The course not only taught me technical skills, but it also gave me the confidence to believe in myself and take action. I learned that I don’t need to have everything figured out to start — that small, consistent steps can lead to real progress. I discovered a supportive, inspiring community and a mentor who genuinely believes in your potential, which made all the difference.

The best part of Immersion was seeing myself grow creatively and personally every week. I learned to trust my instincts, experiment fearlessly, and enjoy the process of creating — not just the final product. One skill I cherish most from the course is the ability to take an idea and confidently bring it to life, from concept to finished design. That skill has become the foundation of everything I do now.

Since completing Immersion, I’ve been able to take that leap into freelancing. I launched my own online business and Etsy shop, something I had dreamed about for years. Recently, one of my products was even chosen as an Etsy Pick, which was such a thrilling milestone. It’s been a journey of hard work, self-discovery, and growth, and every step has been worth it.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue expanding my creative business, exploring new designs, and sharing my work with more people. I feel energised by the possibilities and grateful for the courage and skills Immersion gave me to step fully into the creative life I’ve been dreaming of.
