Meet Judith Martineau
I first discovered surface pattern design in 2022 when I took Bonnie’s Creative Live course. Although I didn’t follow through with creating designs at the time, the idea stayed with me. I knew I wanted to make a meaningful change in my life—to follow through on something creative, to overcome the fear of putting myself out there, and to someday see my work out in the world. As a retiree, I was admittedly concerned about the cost of the Immersion course, but I reminded myself that it was an investment in my future.
The constant encouragement and support from Bonnie, Team Bonnie, and the entire Immersion community made all the difference. It was an incredible experience, filled with kindness, motivation, and a true sense of belonging. The course was absolutely worth the commitment; you simply cannot put a price on the personal growth it brings.
Learning Adobe Illustrator felt intimidating at first, but with the small, repeatable lessons and the ability to ask questions in the community, I’ve become much more confident in my skills.
Since completing the course, I’ve started an Instagram account, opened a Spoonflower shop, and even entered my first Spoonflower design challenge. I’m excited to continue adding designs to my shop, entering more challenges, and eventually pursuing licensing opportunities for my work.
