Meet Louise King

I actually studied surface pattern design for my degree in 1990; however, there were very few job opportunities for me in those days. I felt unprepared and overwhelmed, so I embarked on another career but always, always hankered after creating textiles and surface patterns.

Two children and thirty years of marriage later, I pursued my desire and joined the Immersion Course. I completely LOVED every minute of it. The course made me believe I can do this and acquire the necessary skills to pursue this career.

Since taking the course, I have been able to assess my own work in a much clearer way and have been able to develop my skills so much that it has blown my mind. I am so grateful for the technical knowledge we learnt and also the insight on how to approach potential clients and art directors. I feel like the mystery that everyone else seemed to know has finally been revealed. I am so looking forward to actually making an income from this finally after waiting for the missing pieces for over 30 years.
