Before taking Immersion, I had been creating for years and selling a few prints of my work, but I had no idea how else I could earn money from my art. When I came across Immersion, I wanted to learn new ways to apply my art to products and new ways to structure my business so I could have more freedom. I was a total beginner in surface design. I had never opened Adobe Illustrator and I worried that my style would not translate well into patterns.

I decided to trust that the course would give me everything I needed and that my style would evolve over time. I am so glad I did. I felt supported while learning all the new tools and I slowly began developing my own workflow and style. I loved having the community and my small group to go through the course with and to share what we were learning.

One of the best skills I gained from Immersion was learning to take my time, explore ideas and rework my illustrations until I created something I was truly proud of. That slow and steady approach has shaped how I built my Spoonflower shop. I now get to spend almost all of my working time making art and I am beginning to build a consistent income.

I decided to go all in on Spoonflower in the last year and quadrupled my income, and I attribute a lot of my ability to focus and commit to the mindset skills I learned in Immersion. My plans for the near future are to continue building up my shop as I’m on track to generate a full time income within the next 1-2 years. Then I’ll see where my interests lead me from there!
