Meet Sarah Wreede
I have a line of children’s pajamas coming out in the spring!
My first artistic career was as a set designer and art director right out of college. I worked in film, television and live events, but most of my career was spent on Broadway. After having my first child, I chose to step away and become a stay at home mom. Two babies later, I spent all my free time creating anything I could. I started sewing and selling handmade apron sets and other items. I got into baking highly decorative cakes and sugar cookies and built a strong local client base.
A third unexpected pregnancy took a heavy toll on my health and ended my baking business, so I returned to digital creating. That is when I stumbled across Surface Pattern Design and fell in love.
I wanted to take the Immersion course because it promised the answers I had been searching for. I was hesitant because it seemed expensive and almost too good to be true. With three young kids, I was not sure how I would manage it at all.
Immersion ended up changing so much for me. I learned more than the technical process. I gained a new mindset, confidence and an incredible community of women I could rely on. It gave me direction and reignited my passion. The community was truly the best part. I finally found like minded people who cheer each other on instead of competing.
Since Immersion, I have developed my personal style, built a social media presence, launched my website and started selling my designs on multiple platforms. I have created my own stationery products and placed them in local shops. Clients have reached out for custom work, including a line of children’s pajamas that will be released in the spring. I have also discovered a niche I did not know I had, and I am making exciting progress in that direction.
My time is still limited with a little one at home full time, but I am making the most of the time I do have and building toward the day he starts school, when I can turn this into a full time career. And when that day comes, watch out world here I come!
