Meet Melissa Majors

Prior to discovering surface pattern design, I worked in healthcare for a decade as a registered nurse as well as a medical record analyst. I found myself burnt out, stressed, and feeling like my heart was weighed down by an anchor. I'd always had the itch to do something creative and finally decided to seek out something to bring joy back into my life. That's when I found Bonnie!

I did the free 5-day challenge and ended up creating my first piece of fabric on Spoonflower. It was magical to actually hold a piece of fabric that had my designs on it. I thought, "If I can learn how to do that in 5 days, who knows what I can learn in a few months?" The price of Immersion brought a little hesitation to joining, but I ultimately knew the best decision was to invest in myself. The happiness and fulfillment were worth much more to me during this period in my life.

Immersion gave me the confidence to start my own small business. This past year, I officially registered Mellie Rose Designs LLC and have been building a portfolio and website to go along with it. I am looking forward to organically growing my business little by little. I am still working in healthcare, but I feel like the anchor has been lifted out of my heart with art as a core part of my life.
