Meet Nicole Law

At the beginning of 2022, I was feeling lost. We had just come out of four months of lockdown and home-schooling, I had lost my job and I just didn’t know what was next for me. I’m a graphic designer by trade, and over the previous 5 years or so I had been working part-time while my two sons were little. I knew I didn’t want to return to working in an office but didn’t have the focus or momentum to get a business going either.

When I came across Bonnie Christine and Flourish, I fell in love with the content and the feeling of community. When Immersion 2022 opened I knew it was the right time and course for me. 

I thought Immersion would really be an Illustrator refresher for me and maybe an introduction to surface pattern design, but what I really connected with was the creative entrepreneurship content. I was so inspired and felt empowered by Bonnie’s lessons in this area. 

Once Immersion finished I was ready to get started. I raided my art archive and began with a POD brand straight away called Larke. The course gave me not only practical skills in Illustrator, but also changed my mindset - I now had the confidence to teach myself to build a website and get the brand up and running. 

This year, I’m planning to continue my daily art practice, develop a surface design portfolio and seek licensing partnerships, and (my first time saying this out loud!) I want to write a book about the benefits of daily creative practice. 2023 is gonna be a big year!
